A Brazilian-born food photographer, currently living in Vancouver.
My work extends beyond simply taking pictures; I strive to create a story around the food, using each detail in the frame to reflect the unique identity and history of my client's business.
Building a strong collaboration with my clients is central to my process. I deeply engage in conversations with them, work towards understanding their needs, and develop a solid plan to capture their vision in my pictures. This involves not only meetings and brainstorming sessions, but also an extensive back-and-forth dialogue where their story becomes the backdrop of the shoot.
My Story
Growing up in a family of passionate food entrepreneurs, I was immersed in the vibrant world of the food industry from a young age.
My journey into food photography started during the challenging times of the 2020 pandemic, when I felt the need to support struggling local businesses by offering free food photography services. This led me to combine my visual arts background and my love for food, ultimately finding my niche in food styling.
One standout moment was when I helped a restaurant on the brink of closure turn their fortunes around with a series of photos that breathed new life into their brand. This transformation reinforced my belief in the power of visual storytelling.
Teaching
In addition to my work as a photographer, I am deeply committed to teaching and mentorship. I offer training programs for content creators and food bloggers, helping them learn how to capture breathtaking food images using their smartphones. I have also developed a comprehensive food photography course in Portuguese, equipping entrepreneurs with the skills to craft visually stunning stories of their own.
My Passion
Apart from to photography, I love cooking. Each new dish I create sparks a mini-photoshoot, giving me the chance to experiment with new techniques. I find joy in photographing all types of foods, believing that every dish has its own unique beauty and story. This passion for food photography extends into my personal life as well, as I continually seek out new learning experiences, even outside of work.
